I am hopeful with the Samsung Technology team here I can get assistance...
BUMP
Hello...I am new to the forums and have almost given up with solitary attempts to correct my Samsung BD-P1000 issues...I have owned the machine since the Blu-Ray launch 2006 purchased along with the Toshiba Hd-DVD...
I have updated to the latest firmware 1.9, and have the following problems for the last 4 months:
A) Standard DVD issues - Some will play 100% and some will cut out and skip. This is is especially frustrating when playing a new release and you choose an SDVD to bypass yet another update and you still cannot play the disk.
B) DVD-R discs no longer play - This started about 6 months ago...they just wont play - they DO play on an alternate machine that I purchased the same week.
C) Newer Blu-ray Discs will not play - It all started with WAR...firmware update corrected ...then Across the Universe and Res Evil 3....another firmware update corrected this...but then WAR would not play unless I downgraded to 720P...if it loaded...updated to latest 1.9....now, no discs in last 6 months will play...so...no Iron Man, Across the Universe, WAR, and NO DARK KNIGHT....to name a few...it's so bad, we defer to SDVDs only now...we can get the older BD titles to play ala Crank, SWAT, Transporter 1 & 2...but newer titles, NO DICE. Seems the more BD live stuff is on it, the less likely the disc would play in the machine.
Does anyone have a solution? Sending the unit in for "service" is not a viable solution anymore as we have had to substantially tighten our budget and cannot afford an expensive service bill...what does not make sense is that the last firmware update for this machine was Dec 08...
I know this isnt just my player as two of my friends(which they remind me ever so often after my suggestion to by the model in the in the first place) are having the exact same issues...
Thanks so for your help...
