Question

BD-D5700 Blu-Ray intermittent sound

by threeDs / October 19, 2011 7:00 PM PDT

I bought the blu-ray disc "UFC: The Ultimate 100 Greatest Fights" and immediately noticed sound issues when played in my Samsung BD-D5700 Blu-Ray player. The picture looks fine but the sound goes in and out. The sound seems to be worse in frequency at the beginning of a chapter then tends to get a longer on-time before the sounds drops out again.

The firmware is the latest (just upgraded as of 10/20/11) and it didn't make a difference whether the sound came from the HDMI to the TV or the optical cable to the receiver. Other blu-ray discs have not had this problem and, on the other hand, the UFC disc plays fine on my computer blu-ray player.

Does anyone have suggestions on what I can try to resolve this issue?

Thanks, Thr33Ds

I agree. I have a Panasonic Blu Ray Player and Panasonic Plasma and I have the same issues with audio quality. The sound drops out ever so often for about 2-4 seconds. Very annoying. I expect more from the UFC especially with how much they make off all their fans.

Actually if the media plays fine in any other player then the media is fine.

I found out that my issue was the port on my Panasonic Plasma that I plugged into. When I plugged my Blu Ray UFC Ultimate into another HDMI port on my TV it played flawlessly.

I think that most professionally made blu ray media is fully tested as they are mass produced.
