BD-C5500C - Any way to adjust its audio level?

I have the BD-C5500C player connected to a receiver (Pioneer VSX-1020) via HDMI. I find that when playing a disk (I've only tried standard DVDs so far) that the audio volume level is quite low compared to all the other sources (TV via HDMI, CD player via analog, VHS player via composite). My old JVC DVD player had an option to adjust the audio level but I haven't found such an option on the Samsung player.

It's a bit nasty to switch from a DVD to TV and get blasted out by the 5.1 speaker system.

Is there a way to increase the audio level coming out of the Samsung player?
