BD 4600 + Pioneer VSX-101AH-K Receiver (Handshake Issue?)

by haborojeff / August 21, 2009 2:17 PM PDT

Thanks in part to the recommendations from CNET, I have purchased a Samsung 4600 Bluray Player and the Pioneer VSX-101AH-K Receiver.

I have an ongoing problem with losing the video feed through the receiver. When the 4600 is turned on, video plays to show the intro screen, but when the disc menu is about to appear, the video cuts off. The audio remains however. Now, I can cycle to another option and go back to the BD and the video returns. Yet, the same problem repeats when I start the movie. The audio functions, but the video cuts off. I can cycle through and get video again.

I would hate to return either device, and I would appreciate any advice on how to handle this issue. I tried attaching different HDMI cables, turning off the Kurolink option on the receiver, and using different HDMI inputs. But nothing seems to resolve this issue.

What resolution are you passing through the receiver, and does the receiver have the ability to handle that signal? If you can turn down the resolution and have no problem, it is likely a pass-through issue the receiver.

I tried your suggestion, but it didn't seem to affect anything. I did go to the player's menu and changed the HDMI ANY+ to on, and it seemed to resolve the problem.

Thanks anyway
