Go to the menu of your TV - Applications - Anynet - Auto Turn Off (set it to Off).
Make sure you power everything off and then back on after you have made this change. You may also have the same option available to you on your BluRay player, but I only had to make the change on my Plasma. Once I did so, it stopped forcing one component to turn off other components. I can see how this feature could be useful if you only had a BR to a plasma, but as soon as you add in a Receiver, it throws a wrench into the works. You can duplicate the same annoying issue if you use your BR player as a CD player. You don't need the TV on for that, but if you turn on the BR to pop in a CD, it also turns on the TV. Then if you turn the TV off, it turns off the BR player! Annoying. So disable that feature and you will be all set.
TH.
I have a 550 50' plasma, an HT 720 (??) Receiver system,500 Blue Ray player and now a Motor rolla Digital receiver/recorder.
Situation:
The Blue ray and the Motor rola are wired through to the receiver and the receiver is wired to the TV. When I turn on the tv, I must select source (Which shows as BD Player (anynet). I select it and the Blue ray player immediately powers up and after 5-10 seconds the receiver powers up. It defaults to the DVD. I then select SAT to get the television programs.
Problem:
After about 30 minutes, my Blue ray turns off, and subsequently causes an anynet disconnection and I lose my SAT. The TV defaults to Cable Air (which is static).
It does this regardless if I have a dvd in the blue ray player or not.
What do I need to do to fix this problem? I have not updated the firmware for the Blue ray.
As a an aside: Do i 'unzip the firmware file before sticking it on a memory stick, or can I just put the zipped file on the stick and the blue ray will update automatically.
