Can anyone give me an idea about the battery life of the Dell Inspiron 5000 series (5548 ,5558 or 5559) touch screen laptops.
I need to know about the battery life before buying one for myself.

Idle (without WLAN, min brightness)
11h 06min
WiFi Surfing v1.3 (IE 11)
5h 37min
Big Buck Bunny H.264 1080p
5h 15min
Load (maximum brightness)
1h 43min
Notice how battery times plummet under load. This is typical. That is, your lowest time is about 10% of the max time.
Thanks for the information about the battery life. Helped a lot.
Can I run programs like Android Studio and Photoshop smoothly?
These are considered to be heavy application which require quite a bit of memory and are graphics intensive .
I don't know what smooth is today. Here's my choice for android programming today. It's high end because such work pays. It's the Lenovo y510 with 16GB RAM and 500GB SSD. It cost about 1K.
For such heavy work it's not a good idea to run on battery power.
I didn't check all 3 models but an i5 is nice. If this was mine I'd get 8GB min and SSD.
