It's usually the motherboard. Or a non-Toshiba battery. I'd call this in fast to see if they concur and how much.

My only other thought is how you got it to run on battery if it won't boot. I hope no one slapped in the battery while the laptop was booted. That could damage a motherboard.

There are all of 2 parts here.

You have the motherboard and the battery. There are no other parts. You didn't define booting but I define that is getting to the Windows splash screen. Call it in and see if they concur and ask for a price.

Again I noted this is known to happen with non-maker batteries but you didn't comment on that so that remains on the list of possible causes.

called toshiba talked about issue and computer is only 2weeks old so they said send back for replacment should have new one in 3weeks. I was hoping it was just an easy update driver fix or something easy like that. Thanks for your help

That's a good thing.

Failure like this early is best. Here such repairs take about a week to 10 days depending on shipping times. Some owners got uppity when floods, hurricane or winter weather was wrecking havoc and shutting down transportation centers and causing what could take a week to take a month.
