Question

Battery charges very, very slowly.

Feb 15, 2016 5:30PM PST

I recently buy an laptop. The model is Sager NP5620 (SKU 5600P)
The problem is the battery.

The battery charges slowly, I mean really slowly. Takes like a day to reach 6%. Randomly the battery goes 100%, but then it goes all the way down to 6%, then it still charges. I know that it can be so old that might be dead or something. But it still charges.

I'm using Windows 2000 right now.

Batteries such as the one in that model

Are 300 cycle affairs. That means that in as little as 18 months folk can wear them out.

Another downside of old bad batteries is they can strain and blow out the charging circuit. This is why I never issue any warranty on laptops with many year old batteries. You can't warrant the work on such machines.
