The older netbooks didn't get far on any of the standard batteries and you got over double the time with the big battery which means it did increase the time so all good so far.
I can't see why you are confusing hours, amp-hours and weight. And the time estimate on laptops has been wrong for decades. But you knew that last thing.
Just bought a used/backup 1000he (because I had one before and loved it and decided to stick with it). Leaving country and decided to order couple backup parts (adapter - reason my last broke and battery - already have hd & ram). Netbook actually was perfect but anyway..
I'm confused.. it comes with a 3 cell.. I bought an 8 cell 8800mAH and knowing nothing about batteries I figured more is.. better. I googled my best to find out about it beforehand but nothing clearly stood out since every netbook is different.
Anyway - is it supposed to last longer? How much (est.) longer? I let it fully discharge (it's brandnew) and recharged it and I'm showing 6 hrs - the netbook itself has nothing on (it's running barebones ubuntu).
Is it faulty battery, faulty netbook or faulty expectations? I figured since this one was rated at 9.5 hrs with 3 cell, with a brand new 8 cell that weighs a ton (hell this laptop I'm using that's 2 yrs old can still easily push 3+ hrs with everything turned one using 6 cell) I could get 10+ hrs which is why I wanted the backup.
Did I get screwed or is this just how it sometimes works (wrong battery/wrong model etc.? It wasn't a chinese vendor or whatever, shipped from my cali to cali (where I am) with the seller having near 100% rating).
Thanks for any advice.
