Battalion 101 W150HRQ

by LebSoldier / January 17, 2012 2:56 AM PST

I'm looking for a gaming laptop and my budget is around 1000$. For its price, the Battalion 101 W150 seems to have the best specs. I would like to get some feedback on people who have this laptop (or even a similar Battalion 101) in terms of build-quality and overall looks and feel of it.

If the maker and seller will not answer that question.

I'm gonna be using my laptop for school so it cant weigh a tone. i hadn't asked the maker yet, i was looking around everywhere on their site and couldnt find it so i thought i would ask in forums. Just sent them an email though asking them what i need to know!

I will definitely consider the ASUS, it has the specs I am looking for at a good price.

School and gamer = usually a short life span.

So far I see gamers get about 2 years on a gaming laptop that they haul around to school daily. Be sure to budget for a new laptop in year 3.

found all the info
by LebSoldier / January 18, 2012 11:36 AM PST

so i found the actual makers of the Battalion 101 W150, which is CLEVO (not sure what ibuypower.com's purpose is then) and the laptop has a battery life of 240 minutes and weighs only 5.4 pounds, which is much better than the ASUS, so I think im gonna go with this one. I haven't actually found anyone (on forums) who has this specific laptop, so it sucks i can't get any feedback, but i've heard good stuff about ibuypower's products.

I was going to buy that laptop until I found this guy

I have it and boy does it game. I love running bf3 at 30-60 at all times on all ultra (aa turned down) not fully maxed but up there. the gap between a 555m and a 560m is huge, it is where high end cards really start 550s' in general are budget cards. I know it is refurbished and all, but hey I bought it and mine was brand new. Mine had all the plastic screen covers and in its original box. Good luck on your quest to find a good budget gaming laptop!

too big!

hey thanks for the reply! I was looking for a 15 inch max and so the 17 is way too big and heavy for me! From what I read though, the 555m can handle all of the games I will be playing on high settings, which is good enough for me. But anyway I decided not to get a new laptop anymore (seeing as I already have one) and just buy myself a desktop for gaming. The desktops they have on new egg are really well priced and they ship to canada either for free or for a fee that's well over half the price that ibuypower.com was going to charge me.
