There are folk that didn't want that and changed away from AVG since they wanted an antivirus and not a cleaner.
Also, the product even with the free version looked to be a trial version that would stop working after a time.
I have several computers running the free version of AVG. When you click the "Fix Performance" tab you are offered the free "Basic Tuneup" process. When I recently installed AVG Free on a couple of new computers, the "Fix Performance" tab led the user into downloading the paid version of Tuneup which would not function unless I purchased the service for a year. It appears that my older installations are updating with "Basic Tuneup" still in place. Does anyone know how far back (what version of AVG free) I would need to go to install the program that has the free "Basic Tuneup" as the default cleanup service? Thanks for your assistance!
