Very very few if any receivers have tuners.
For this setup I usually run the cable to the HDTV and then optical back to the receiver for HD Audio.
But I don't see all the model numbers so I am left to guess why the cable would go to the receiver and not the TV.
I have set up a small home theater at my place. I was trying to get my cable hooked up to my receiver so I can watch football on the big screen. The cable I have does not require a cable/satellite box and my receiver does not have a TV tuner built in. I have tried "Mediasonic Homeworx HW180STB 3 / 4 Channel HDTV Digital Converter Box with Recording and Media Player" and that did not work. I am unable to find a solution, with football starting I would like to get it working. I need to find a tuner that takes the coaxial input with HDMI output. Is there any suggestions.
