Bandwidth test

The results of the cnet bandwidth test for my connection were very low and do not come close to matching other online test site results or my providers specs. What gives?

and needs to be updated to a java or flash test, with different test server locations. I got 2000kb on a 12000kb line.

Pick a server close to you.

But remember this! Due to server backbone, overhead, net congestion, and a host of other issues, no test will be the same.

I have always held the cnet site content in high regard, this is disturbing.

Disturbing?

Shouldn't be. Some cars are better than others, some steaks are better than others, some sites are better than others. And since the CNet "site" is on the west coast, how many hops does it take before it gets to your house?

Shop around.

I have Road Runner/Comcast/Time Warner (pick one) and an advertised speed of 20 Meg/s. The Speakeasy site I gave you tests right on.
