Resolved Question

Bad preformance after upgrade

Oct 29, 2018 10:30PM PDT

I've upgraded my graphics card to the 1050ti and I am barely even getting 60 fps and having terrible stuttering when i play fortnite. In other games like csgo, the stuttering is not nearly as bad, but i have the same issue of barely reaching/staying above 60 fps. It has only became this unbearable recently and I'm very unsure why. I play on the lowest graphic settings in both games and have tried several resolutions on both games. I am looking for any suggestions/explanations that could help me, as I know very little about computer hardware and preformance. Please help

When you put in a better GPU you can get lower FPS. WHY!!!???

Games tend to default to more eye candy and 10 to 40ish FPS. To get the performance up you have to play with the settings.

Now it could be you used the driver CD that came with the card but I can't tell yet.

It's not just setting lowest settings to be done here. You have to be sure the monitor is plugged into the GPU. Just last year I found a few folk that had it plugged into the motherboard.

Then you get DDU (see google) and install the latest GeForce drivers and Experience. Next you google like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=Optimize+Fortnite+FPS

You replaced the gpu and everything worked fine for some period of time.
Now perf has dropped and you don't know why.
Is that correct?
