amesiaman,
Usually the ports will not search for Anynet devices if both Anynet+ devices (TV and DVD player) have it switched to off. If you have one off, and one on, it could cause that issue.
I have no idea why a DVR would reboot due to the television it's hooked up to, but I wouldn't dismiss it completely either. You might try switching out your DVR box to see if that fixes the issue. If it doesn't, then you at least know that it's your television causing the issue.
I wouldn't wait on the warranty, however. I would get it done as soon as your schedule permits - just a recommendation. You can call your local service center for an appointment, and see what they can do for you.
Keep me posted.

Port 1 on on samsung Ln32a550 tv defective as it casues cable dvr reboot issues. The cable dvr or cable itself is fine. Put cable dvr on port 2 and no more issues, The samsung dvd player now on port 1 has anynet issues- constant anynet signal searching and must disconect cable. Without anynet enabled Samsung dvd player plays fine on port 1. What is actually wrong with port.
Can port 1 still damage my dvd player If I dont use anynet. Whats needs to be replaced motherboard or port. TV is only 3 mths old, but I cant take time off right now as service only comes monday to friday. Since I have 9 mths left on warranty I will have serice come in may on my vacation. Besides have 2 good ports working in meantime
