Question

Bad file on DVD - Repair? Retrieve? Please help

Sep 16, 2011 11:28AM PDT

I have a DVD with 4 zipped files, each 930 MB.

Two are fine, two are not. When trying to copy to HD I get the message 'source file cannot be read'.

Tried a bunch of file repair programs. No luck. One went up to 260 MB copied in 40 seconds, then took 3 days (!!!) to move from 260 MB to 262,5 MB. Then I clicked cancel.

I am desperate to get these files, please help.

Tried on the laptop on which I burned it and on my stationary PC.

While I'd keep trying the tools at the top of the forum, you see DriveSavers.com is now doing recovery on optical media too.

Good luck with the tools and keep trying any drive/machine you can.
