Bad CD burns using Musicmatch

Mar 26, 2005 6:32AM PST

I have been using Musicmatch without much trouble for over a year. All of a sudden, the CD's I'm burning are very lousy. Each track starts with a shrill scratch noise. Kind of like dropping a needle on an old LP, if anyone remembers what that sounds like. The remainder of the song is fine, but when listening to a CD, there's this awfull sound as each track changes. This noise is not apparent when I simply listen to the songs from the Musicmatch library on my PC.

Is this a problem with Musicmatch or my burner?

INFO: I'm currently using the free version of Musicmatch 10, burning at only 8X speed and the only settings I'm changing are the Volume Leveling for the Audio and MP3 tabs.

Please help me as since I didn't pay this time for Musicmatch, they wont help me. Thanks!
