backup utility (reliable and user friendly)

Aug 7, 2004 6:21AM PDT

i'm looking for a backup utility which will provide the following:
1) exact duplicate of entire hard drive
2) to CD-RW with disk spanning
3) after initial backup, will append only new/changed files or configurations
4) will preserve programs and system settings

have been reading reviews till my eyes are out on stems, but havent found any that claim to fill ALL of the above....want to be prepared for hard disk crash (have experienced already & had to reinstall EVERYTHING, ugh!!)

OS: Win ME
Sys: Dell 4300 desktop
Utilities: Norton SystemWorks 2003 Pro ed (dont like GoBack or other "imaging" types)

But even one I found called Backup MyPC eventually faltered when a new version of the Intel Acceleration drivers appeared.

Tell us if you find such, but for now I just use this ->

It's also at nonags.com

Happy hunting.

Of course you could use Norton Ghost. It would do just that what you expect him to do. It will not append new data on your spanned images on the next backup but will overwrite them. But that would just take minutes depending on the speed of your processor. And you can automatically restore it from your CD.
