But many pass up on the simple solution of selecting folders they want to keep a copy of and copying such to the other drive.
Nothing more than Windows is required.

Hi, I have a few questions about backup.
I recently reinstalled Windows on my computer with a different hard drive and used the old one as the slave drive with my previous files stored on it. Before I reformatted, I had a backup going with a seagate freeagent go (external) hard drive using the software that came with the drive. I was told by seagate that you have to start a new backup because the file location had changed. My first question is: Is there any other backup software out there that will allow you to move the files and continue backing up without starting all over again? I'm worried that my backup might have a file that is not on my computer that I don't know of. Is there any way to verify that all of the files are still stored on my computer before deleting this backup and creating a new one? I was looking at a program called Winmerge. Has anyone used it before?
I also need to backup another computer that I have. The other external drive I have does not come with backup software. Is there any software that you guys can recommend? I have used syncback in the past but I'd really like software that stores old versions of data (versioning). Thinking about going to syncback SE but its $30. Anybody using this?
As far as differential and incremental backups go, Is that just for cd/dvd backups? I think my seagate backup software just updated the full backup.
Sorry about all the questions.
