Some are looking for a backup system that can restore the "system" when they say, replace a laptop. Because of the way Windows is designed with activation, drivers and more, it is not possible to backup one PC and restore it to the next PC.
You're not seeing things. This is how it is.
However I have no problems backing up and restoring files. This has never been an issue.

I have been looking at backup software reviews, both within CNET and outside. There are many backup systems, some free, some paid, etc, and many reviews. I may have looked at 100. None, none, NONE (except 1) spoke about restoring files, disks, or systems, which is the only reason to make a backup. The 1 was the manufacturer, not a review. Apparently reviewers either do not try restore, or stop after restoring a single file: "OK, it works, next!" Last time I looked, several years ago, only manufacturers spoke about this in disclaimers regarding the ability to restore files, disks, and systems. Thanks for listening, community, and lets report on restoration speed, accuracy, and completeness of capability.
