Question

Backup from NAS to NAS

Jan 20, 2014 5:38AM PST

We have three NAS devices. We would like to use one of them to backup the other two, plus the other computers on the network. We are having trouble trying to find the correct software.

Here's it's too many choices.

Was there a reason such as cost or some spec you didn't find backup software to meet?

Well...

I will admit that cost is a factor, but when I do a search for backup I get all the cloud-base sites. We are trying to avoid a recurring cost.

OK, how about SYNC apps?

I admit I use Syncback, GoldSync to sync some network drives. Some call those NAS.

Answer
Does the NAS have this feature?

For example, I have dealt with Buffalo NAS Units as many models have the facilty to back up to another NAS (I think it has to be another Buffalo, I am unsure as I have never actually done it, just seen the option).

So I suggest you take a look in the management web access of the Nas units. This would be the easiest 'on board' option if it is possible!)
