i would like to know how to backup my entire OS its files and folders and every single data on my PC.im usin a blank CDROM

if anything were to happen to my PC ,could i just copy back all the data on the CD including the OS,or do i have to reinstall my OS then copy back the rest of the files?

The closest thing there is is called an imaging program, such as Norton Ghost. These take something of a snapshot of your system, and allow you to restore it to that point.

However, relying on these images as a backup is a bad idea. You want to be sure to back up your documents, photos, etc, separately just in case.

What you seem to want is an image prog...as jackson said.

It gets everything.
I use one.

Two problems.
Folks don't test the restore function until it's crisis time. Sad

If your HD contains 60/80/100+MB of data and you image that to
optical.....your going to be there for a while.

solution and there are many besides Norton Ghost.

One of the easier to use and most dependable is Acronis True Image which has the added benefit of creating a system restore partition on your hard drive if desired as well as being able to perform normal data backups to keep everything current.
