So it could be wiring and let's be sure about this. Are you going to get it fixed?
I have a hp pavilion zv5000 laptop. Lately, my screen backlight cuts out when my screen is at 90 degree angle from the keyboard. I can still see images on screen but they are very dark so i know its the backlight. This strikes me as odd as if it was the inverter or lamp, it would keep going out. For now I've been using a laptop mount and keeping my monitor around 120-130 degrees and it has worked without fail for weeks. I'm thinking there is a short somewhere in the joint area between the laptop bottom and the lcd monitor. I was thinking of taking the monitor apart and see but wanted some input before dismantling.
