Question

Backing up Samsung phone to PC

Oct 5, 2014 10:14AM PDT

I've tried to back up my SGII to Kies 2 years ago to a Windows 7 Pro computer and it just wouldn't work. I've spent hours trying to find a suitable app to back it up with. I tried Kies again last year and finally got it to work. I went to check it a few months later - and it's EMPTY.
So I try it one more time in August 2014. Miracle - it backed up everything and after I checked and double-checked it was all there. Went to retrieve some things in September 2014 and it's completely EMPTY...again! Is Kies a legitimate app, or is it some kind of sick joke?
Pics and docs have been strangely disappearing from my phone.

I don't use that and am doing fine. Or did you intend this reply for me?

I found the back ups...

When I first checked Kies right after I backed all this stuff up, it all appeared with the program (Kies). Looks like I can't open them now with it, but the files are buried in a "Library" with folders within folders that somehow got created. Not at all easy to find. But, they're there.
