Backing up drivers (before formatting)

by MYellott / March 5, 2005 6:29 AM PST

I am formatting a semi-public computer that is mostly used for music file storage and playing. I want to ensure that I have no problems with any of the hardware (especially the sound system) so I want to backup all of the drivers before I format. Is there an easy way to go about this?

and get a listing of everything installed. Or go to the device manager and write down all of the hardware installed. If you don't have the original resource CD or the CD with the drivers for the computer, go online and download a copy. You may be able to go to the company's web site, enter the model number and find the drivers that way.
