Axim X30 sync issues with Calendar in Outlook 2002

Aug 15, 2005 3:21PM PDT

Hi

I just got a new X30 and I'm issues sync between Outlook in my laptop and the Calendar in the Axim.

I have a lot of appts to add, so I tried typing all of them in the laptop and then sync my pda and my laptop, but it didn't work.

It's just much easier to type into the laptop than to type into the handheld. Is there a way to fix this?

PDA: Axim X30 624mhz
Latptop: Dell Latitude D600
Software: Windows Mobile 2003 Second Ed., Outlook 2002 and Active Sync 3.7.1

Thanks.

Did the appointment data become corrupt, did you receive an error message, or did the sync simply fail? Also, do your notes, contacts, etc sync properly?

Before anything else, I'd update to the latest version of ActiveSync, which may solve your problem. The version you are using (3.7.1) was released June 7, 2004, ancient in the world of technology. Click here to download ActiveSync 3.80, the most recent official release. You can also download ActiveSync 4.0 (I believe it's still a developer preview, but I haven't had a problem with it) by clicking here. 4.0 fixes a lot of bugs and glitches (including a few problems I was having), but no longer supports syncing via WiFi.

Hope this helps,
John

Did you CHECK the calendar option when installing ActiveSync? I sorta had this problem when I upgraded from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003. I assumed these check marked options were the same on 2003 as 2000... WRRRRONGGGGG! I lucked out cause I forgot to upgrade to ActiveSync 3.8. When installing ActiveSync 3.8 I noticed some of the Outlook options were not checked, calendar was one and files folder was the other. Anyway, when I did it RIGHT it works just fine. Also, Outlook 2003 default is Internet Directory Service (LDAP). You may want to check that setting so you don't receive annoying message windows.
