Avira Free

I received an e-mail from CNET indicating that a new version of Avira Free was available, version 10. I downloaded it from the CNET site and installed it but the version reads 9.0.0.422. This doesn't appear to be version 10. Is this the latest version? If not I'm wondering if I chose the wrong option when I installed? Early on in the install process you are presented with 3 options. I merely went with the one that was already chosen thinking it was the correct one. Any help would be appreciated.

Currently, BEFORE installing the new Avira 10, you need to perform a complete uninstall of the previous version. So start by accessing the Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs and uninstall any and all versions of Avira that show up there. After that's done, use the Avira registry clean up tool from the link below to remove all remnants of the old program.. Once that's done, restart the computer and reinstall the new Avira:

Clicking on the link below will immediately start the download dialogue box for the file. Once it's on your desktop, unzip the file and then run the "Regcleaner.exe" that resides inside.

Complete manual uninstall instructions are in the link below:

Hope this helps.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
