Question

Avira Blocking wireless Printer

Jul 23, 2015 5:05PM PDT

Hi
I just purchase a New HP Envy 7640 printer. I had the help of HP Tech help me install the printer. Everything works fine after we uninstall my Avira Antivirus Pro program. I have installed the Antivirs program and again the printer will not connect to my computer wirelessly. Can someone tell me if there is a fix for this problem. I have put a question out on Aviria community help page. I have a Dell Desktop computer XPS-8700, operating sys window 8.01
Any Help would be appreciate.
Thank You

Answer
True for overprotective protection.

Avira's forum would be best but I didn't find a manual for Avira's apps. Since this app moves menus around with versions you would be looking for how to allow or shut off this overprotective app.

Answer
why not

hi I have same printer as you and with my McAfee I did not have to uninstall or shut it off so why not uninstall the antivirus you have and put full version of McAfee on then you will find your printer will work as good as gold, also did you use the disc that came with did or just do online, as doing both first online then disc puts the drivers in better

Avira Blocking wireless printer- Thanks for answers
Jul 27, 2015 7:06PM PDT

Hi
I want to thank you for your reply and answer to my problem. I have installed another antivirus program.
The printer is working just fine now. No problems at all.

I had purchased the Avira antivirus program and I just didn't know it would not or block other devices that you make install or purchase.

Again Thank You
I am up and running now.

Answer
Typically your anti virus software

should allow you to add trusted devices using either the IP address of printer name. If it doesn't it's a flaw in the software. Anti virus software should be powerfull and protective but also should be flexible since no everyone's setup is the same. Lot's of people have wireless printer also.
