.avi files not playing

I have some .avi files that i loaded from nokia 6600 mobile. When I play these files i can only hear audio. the video is not displayed.

My Windows Media Player (WMP) is latest as it shows that no updates are available.

But when I load the .avi file in WMP it's status bar shows "Downloading codecs" then after some messages of getting connected to server lastly status bar shows "error downloading codec" then it starts playing file with no video and only audio.

File plays properly on other computers.

If I need to download some codecs please guide me so & if they are available in any software please inform me of same.

My PC Config:
Win XP Pro 2002 SP2
WMP 10.00.00.3646 (latest)
p4 1.9ghz
40gb hdd
256ddr sd ram

Which codec?

Try a freeware utility "avicodec.exe". It tells you quite some details about the video file.
