Question

AVG Update Firewall issue.

I have the latest free AVG antivirus program Ver. 17.4.3014.

I installed a new firewall called tinywall, Managed to get all the other programs working except for the AVG Updates. It is only working when I turn it off.

Is it possible to let me know what exceptions I need to add for it to work and all the other things needed for AVG to work on the internet.

I have added a link showing the exceptions I added with no success.

Update

I have posted the question on the AVG site but it is still pending review.

I used TCPeye program to trace what is going on while running the update. Several programs popup but only one is showing the name. So I added it and now it is downloading the update at a very slow speed when compared without a firewall. But it does not seem to install it even after it reaches 100%.

The below link will show the traced applications by TCPeye.

So how can I found out what the others are?

For others who need it.

After Adding the below file the updates are running normally. Not sure if we need to add others also.

C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Antivirus\setup\instup.exe

Thank you for posting your solution. Can you tell me if you were able to work with AVG support on this? If you want to direct message me with your ticket, I can look into this. I want to make sure this solution is available for those who need it, e.g. the FAQ or elsewhere. I haven't heard of this being required and it may be specific to the program you are using, so if you could also pass on specific info there (the version of Tinywall for example) that may also be helpful.
