Brand new version of AVG PC TuneUp was released recently. New AVG PC TuneUp makes computer and Windows optimization easier, extends your battery life, help find and fix the gaps and errors that cause your PC problems and more. This version uses new format of the license number therefore it is not possible to activate it with your current (used in previous versions of AVG PC TuneUp) one. It is necessary to generate compatible license number which can be used for activation. Compatible license numbers are generated manually on users request which may take some time at the moment. Please contact Sales department directly or AVG customer care experts to start using new AVG PC TuneUp.

** Trusted device in your network **

Although this is not one of frequent queries in forums, the information may save some time to anyone who needs allowing network access to a specific device in his network without limitation. Such device could be a NAS server, network scanner/printer, etc. The most straightforward solution to allow all traffic to and from such a trusted device is to whitelist it. More information on how to whitelist a device with static IP address in AVG Firewall configuration can be found here.
Should you require additional assistance configuring AVG Firewall, please contact AVG customer care experts or describe the situation in AVG Forums.

** Java 7 download trouble **

A few AVG 2012 users mentioned non-functional download in some Java applications with AVG LinkScanner active, if Java 7.x is installed. Developers investigated this issue and prepared fix which is available in the latest update of AVG 2012. Please update your AVG to the version 2012.0.2221 or upgrade to AVG 2013 to resolve this issue.
Should you need any assistance, please do not hesitate contacting AVG customer care experts.

** Avoiding malware **

Some time ago, we've been asked to put together a few recommendations on how to stay safe and avoid infections in forums. This request was motivated by the fact that no security solution is able to protect user against 100% of threats and it is always a good idea to prevent bad things from happening than ironing out the consequences later. Please find our basic recommendations in this AVG Forums article, if interested.
