** AVG update error on 64-bit systems **

Several AVG Free Forum visitors reported non-functional update process on their 64-bit systems. The update process seemingly stalls when analyzing downloaded update files. Based on the so far provided diagnostic data, the update installation process is "correctly" closed (prematurely). The issue may well be caused by a software conflict or possibly by a hidden infection. Unfortunately, we were not able to induce the issue in our environment so far.
Should you meet similar update issue, please contact AVG technical support or alternatively provide forum moderators with all needed information as described in this forum thread.

** Stubborn infection **

Forum visitors reported hard to remove infections (usually accompanied by rootkits). Scanning the system using updated AVG Rescue CD in case an infection is coming back usually rectifies the issue. In case the infection is still coming back or cannot be removed, it may be hidden in a virtual file system which is not accessible by usual means or protected in a different way. Please contact AVG technical support in case you need assistance with infection removal.

** LiveKive issues **

New AVG LiveKive user were not able create accounts due to a technical problem. The same issue occurs when creating a new device within existing LiveKive accounts. User is presented with the attached error message.
We have immediately released a fixed Windows LiveKive version to address this issue. Please make sure your LiveKive client software is fully up to date in case of unexpected behavior. The most recent AVG LiveKive installation packages (version 2011.10799) can be found here. Mac version will be released later after it is completely tested.

** Websites not fully functional **

A few AVG Free Forum visitors reported websites malformed by AVG Surf Shield code inserted which may affect the website intended functionality. This issue is currently being analyzed by developers. In case you would face similar situation, please disable the AVG Surf Shield (under the LinkScanner component) temporarily to work-around this issue. If the issue persists, AVG is not the cause most likely. Kindly contact AVG technical support for further assistance.

** Rogue unsolicited phone calls **

A couple of AVG fans reported suspicious phone calls offering unsolicited technical support. Please be informed these phone calls are aimed on financial gain through manipulating user. We do not recommend following caller's instructions unless true identity and intentions could be verified. Please read this blog post for more information.
