AVG Sees 8 issues with ZoneAlarm Says it is Trojans Horse. I deleted The first set then ZoneAlarm did not work. I uninstalled ZoneAlarm True Vector is not working.

1) Infection (trojan horse Agent_r.CX Windows\system32\zonelabs\zpy.zipdll
2)Windows\system32\zonelabs\lib\licenseui.zip.dll

In the Virus Vault it has 8 Trojan horses

I ran Trojan Remover and it saw nothing.

Those Double Extension Files Are Being Detected...
Oct 13, 2008 1:27PM PDT

...as a virus although they appear to be a false positive.. See the link below:

http://www.fbmsoftware.com/spyware-net/process/zpy_zip_dll/3465/

I also have the Windows\system32\zonelabs\lib\licenseui.zip.dll file on all my computers which have ZoneAlarm installed. The other file you listed is not at the exact path you described. It should reside at this path: C:\Windows\system32\zonelabs\lib\zpy.zipdll

It's now your choice as which way to proceed.. Contact AVG? Uninstall AVG and use another program? It's up to you.

Hope this helps.

Oct 13, 2008 6:30PM PDT

I had Zonealarm off today and This happened to me too- i updated AVG today, then turned on ZA- get the same results as you from AVG about zonealarm through an AVG resident shield warning anout trojan hors agent_ cx...- i didnt send them to the vault though- i managed to get ZA up long enough to shut it down but now again with avg updated and ZA on ,I cant open IE- so ZA is off until this is fixed. i just fixed teh IE and ZA and AVG connection problem a week ago- and its back.

Tried Uninstalling Both?
Oct 14, 2008 2:54AM PDT

I'm not sure where to start but I would uninstall AVG first.. Next, if you can open ZoneAlarm, then click on the 'Overview' tab on the left side, then the "Preferences" tab, then UNCHECK the box that says: "Load ZoneAlarm at startup". Then restart the computer. After it restarts, then uninstall ZA from the Control Panel.

If both are uninstalled correctly, then check the Windows Firewall and verify that it's now "ON".

If you still can't access the internet, then use a friend or family member's computer to download the WinsockXPFix tool from the link below. Copy it to a CD or flash drive, then transfer it to the problem machine and run it. It frequently fixes internet connection software to get you up and running again.

Hope this helps.

infected dll-files in Zone Alarm
Oct 14, 2008 3:07AM PDT

I have got the same warning from AVG Anti-Virus 8.0.173. What you can do is checking the suspicious files at the following web-sites:

http://virusscan.jotti.org/
and/or
http://www.virustotal.com/de/

The checking of my files said there is no problem with these files. I think the warning of the AVG Resident Shield is a false positive. But the safest way is to wait for reply of AVG.
