AVG question

Everytime i install the newest avg program,I get a connection to the update server has failed message. What is this all about? Its been this way with 4 atempts of trying to update it after each install. I guess i'll try something else. Been a avg fan for about 4 years, but this last update will not work for me.

The server is either down, or

may be overloaded. I would try later.

If you decide to try another AV, I would suggest Avast.

There have been some problems with...

In reply to: AVG question

AVG 8.0 for some users. Grisoft has been addressing these and within the last day or so has issued a program update. My recommendation would be to download the latest version and save to disk:

http://free.avg.com/ww.download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition

Go offline and install the fresh download. Hopefully this will solve the issue. I have purposefully withheld installing AVG 8 until the dust settles... still using AVG 7.5 that is supported until Dec 31st.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Glenn, as you know I have used AVG

In reply to: There have been some problems with...

for many years. I no longer have AVG on my PC, last week I removed AVG and installed Avast Free. I don't keep up with AVG anymore, other than to read all these problem posts.

I'll shoot you an e-mail in a few.
