AVG install problems - dial-up

Aug 16, 2009 10:18PM PDT

I'm running Windows Vista on my new laptop. Unfortunately I only have a dial-up connection.

I downloaded the newest AVG Free program to my flash drive using someone else's cable connection, which I've done in the past--but this time running it only starts the download, which will take 10+ hours on my connection (and often gets interrupted part way through, requiring a start over)! The file is 892 KB on the flash drive . . . do I need to do something special when I download the program, other than specify that it is to be saved to my flash drive?

RE Avg Install

I have a client with the same problem. The initial AVG Free (11) file is a small file that triggers the download of a larger file > 50MB which is the real product. With previous versions of AVG Free you could download the larger file and go from there. Too bad these vendors have forgotten about the number of folks that are still on dial up. One thought take your laptop to a friends or internet cafe and do the initial install there.
