AVG free trial

Mar 6, 2011 4:15PM PST

I've downloaded the AVG free version (although it is only a trial version) about 3 times now, and am getting tired of having to do this every time it expires after a month. Is there any alternative to this other than buying it? I guess I miss the good old days when they gave a free version for free, forever.

i must be doing something wrong. I thought i was downloading the free version from the #1 link on the Cnet front page, but each time i do so it tells me after a month that my license has expired and i have to buy it.

Hello VistaVictim,

you have downloaded AVG Online Installer from CNET website, which gives you 2 options in the beginning of installation wizard:
- install AVG Free
- install AVG Internet Security Trial

You can also follow steps from this website to clean up the computer before new AVG installation.

What is the current situation?

Thank you

You may try a Kespersky trial version. You can easily reset it after a month.

Hello alishekarfroush,

you should not use trial versions of the same product over and over. Are you sure you are not breaking any license (policy) agreements doing it?

Thank you
