AVG Crashed windows 7

Nov 19, 2010 1:51AM PST

I'm running windows 7 64bit on a
acer aspire 5536 laptop
AMD Turion x2 2.2GHz processor
2GB memory
250 HDD
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics
The thing is i installed AVG 2011 on it from here.
now when i switch my laptop on it starts up as normal but soon as it gets to sign in for my account, it makes a funny sound from the fan area then it crashes a blue screen comes up with writing. It says somthing about it saving my laptop and it worked fine be for putting AVG 2011 on. Any help with this would be appreciated

Any Answer On How To Fix This
Dec 26, 2010 9:13AM PST

I don't have a 64 bit Windows 7 just the regular Windows 7 32-bit and I have the same results. If AVG has address this problem why not post here so others will have the answer. I can't get a mini dump because the system crashes. If their software isn't windows 7 compatible maybe they should just state it. So my computer has all my important stuff on it but the only way I can fix what AVG 2011 has done to my computer is wipe it out. Not a very happy camper right now.

My laptop is a Gateway NV52
Amd Atholon 64 x2
4 GB Memory
320 GB HDD
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

Hello Symickens,

Blue Screen Of Death is general error and without any crash files (minidumps, dumps), it is not possible to find the culprit of it.

I am currently not aware about any common culprit of mentioned crash, which looks more like some conflict. We are using AVG 2001 at many computers with Windows 7 without any issues.

You can disable AVG from startup as described at this How-To article (you can use also other Linux Live CD to access files on your hard disk to rename AVG drivers or binaries).

Then please provide us with mentioned minidump files for closer analysis.

Thank you
