AVG Cannot remove file, file too large..

Dec 11, 2010 12:45AM PST

Hi guys, my girlfriend has a Sony Vaio laptop, and AVG has found a file that it doesnt like in the wallpapers.

I've tried to delete it through AVG, but it says its too big?

Any ideas?

She has also just been the victim of some fraud on her bank account, and I am thinking that perhaps this file is the problem?

When I have a file that must be gone.

And Windows or some app can't deal with it, I boot UBUNTU from a CD and click on the drive c, find that file and delete it.

Remember I don't install UBUNTU, I don't learn UBUNTU. I just use it to click around just like I do in windows to get to that folder and select the file just like I do in windows and tap the delete key just like in windows.

Hope this helps you delete it.
Bob

More information

Hello,

Could you provide us with more information?:
Namely full path to the detected file, name that AVG uses for detection and size of the file.

If you are sure it is safe to delete, you could also try to delete it in safe mode.

Thanks
