AVG antivirus - unable to uninstall

When attempting to uninstall AVG antivirus (trial version) get this error message at the last point before restart:

"action failed for the file avgrssvc.exe stopping the requested control not valid for this service (1052)"

Grateful for any assistance

Downloading and installing the trial version of AVG again. You didn't mention which version it is, but you'll probably find it here:

http://www.avg.com/download

You should eventually be asked to "install", "repair" or "delete". Choose "delete" and see if it helps.
