AVG 8.5 not supported Where next!!!

Dec 30, 2010 5:01AM PST

Hi guys, AVG 8.5 is no longer supported, and I am not inclined to go to 2011 yet as it is obviously a bag of the proverbial!

Is there still a free version of 9 available please?

Can happen. Try again. Try on another PC. Try with someone else and run from your USB-stick. Only if all fail, it's an AVG problem.

Hello nilocp,

As suggested by Kees, try to download the file on another computer and run installation from USB drive.

You could also check your harddrive for errors.

Thank you

The English language file is corrupted. I downloaded the multi language file, and it is working OK now.

Maybe AVG should look at the corrupted file?

Hello nilocp,

The error message "File is corrupt" is mostly related with corruption of downloaded file or its extraction, which is caused by state of used hard drive (hardware).

Please check your hard drive for errors.

Hello nilocp,

Because the hard drive is new and the passed test showed no errors. Please check also memory modules.

Small note - new hardware does not always mean it is without errors (there exists failed pieces of equipment).

Thank you
