AVG 7.5 trial won't uninstalll

by flicksdog / March 27, 2008 3:27 PM PDT

I have been trying to uninstall AVG 7.5 Trial Version since it's 30 days expired. Have tried from both the AVG screen and through Windows add/remove. OS is XP.
It keeps having a general failure.
Also 'educated' myself on CNET and downloaded Revo uninstall to see if that would help, which it doesn't.
I have also tried to download AVG7.5 free and then to uninstall...won't let me do that either.
I don't wnt to buy AVG unless I have to.
My question is (and it may be dumb, that's why I'm in newbies)
Can I just delete all the programs in the Grisoft folder and it will just go away?

AVG uninstall

Assuming that you have tried to uninstall from control panel, to no avail. Go to my computer, open drive C, go to PROGRAM FILES open, find item on list, if there, RIGHT click and see if it will delete, if it does, do a file search, type in the name (AVG) PUSH ENTER,if files appear, do the RIGHT click and delete. If it still doesn't go away, go to start, RUN, type in regedit in the run box, press enter. When the registry editor appears, to to EDIT, then FIND, type in AVG, press enter, wait a minute and see if anything related to AVG appears, if so, RIGHT click and delete, normally this will kick it out but do be careful when deleting items from the registry only delete items germane to what you want to get rid of. Best of luck!
