could you please be more specific, why do you think that computer without Microsoft Security Essentials will cause problems? As Microsoft Security Essentials is anti-virus protection as AVG, Norton, Nod32, etc. and running more protections together can cause slowdown, crashes and unexpected computer behavior.

Ok, so I'm totally confused and could use some help. AVG keeps telling me that I need to update to AVG 2011, but whenever I try to do so, it then tells me that I need to uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials. Which, I'm pretty sure, I can't do without causing problems with my computer...
I'm on a Toshiba laptop, D-link wireless router.
OS is Vista.
So, should I just keep ignoring AVG when it tells me to update to 2011? Not sure what else to do...
