Looking at the specs,,,30 gbHD,,will record for 468000 seconds,, and a little 6 grade math,,, get a max
record time of 130min,,,more 6th grade math end up at 230700kb/min,,,,so for a 30min video,,,,6.9 gb or so. john

because the manufacturers say that you can get up to 130 hours of video on lowest quality, and im pretty sure that not even the av500's highest quality recording would take up 14 gb per hour, and although i already knew what the record time was for low quality, i just wanted to know the space for a good recording.

while the quality will determine the file size...

Generally speaking we can say mpeg4 is about 1/5 to 1/10 the size of a dvd file. Looking at 120 minutes/4.7G for a dvd; you can do the math.
