Resolved Question

Avengers 3D will not work on Samsung LN46C750 TV

Oct 3, 2012 6:01AM PDT

Hello, I recently purchased the Avengers 3D Blu-ray 4 pack and have already once made a exchange and it still will not register my tv. I use my PS3 as my player. I contacted Samsung/Disney and Sony this past weekend. I received feedback from Disney and Sony. They both suggest it is my television. Samsung rep told me that it is not possible that a firmware update is needed as the tv is "only supplying an image". I have tried hooking my pc to the tv (it has a 3D Blu-ray player as well) and I get the same message; "Your player or monitor is not 3D compatible. Please insert in a 3D compatible player or hook up to compatible monitor OR download the latest firmware for your devices. My PS3 was updated on July.26 2012. My tv hasn't seen an update since february of 2011. Do I risk wasting my money on 3D movies from here on out? Will it be hit and miss? Can you please explain? Thank you.

Yes I had a brainstorm last night and it turns out that for some reason my PS3 defaulted back to regular picture. I went into settings/autoconfigure video and it re-registered my monitor as 3D. But it still does not explain why my pc blu-ray did not work. I am glad it works now. I really like the Samsung brand. From my tv to my pc monitor to my Galaxy S3. Thank you for yoir feedback.

Hi thezombiemachinist,

I looked into your issue: the Samsung representative told you correctly. The TV shouldn't be a consideration. Either all 3D Blu-rays will work, or none should work, as the TV does is check to see if it's getting a 3D signal. So try additional 3D Blu-ray discs--ones that previously worked just fine--and let me know the results.
