Answer
So far....

We have to install some malware to cause this to happen. Today's antivirus systems don't stop us from doing that and only know existing bad things, not all.

I'd make use of your disaster plan. Think over what site or app you recently used or installed.

There are Antivirus Live CDs that come in handy when folk don't have a recovery plan.

Thank you for your opinion, where might I get one of the Antivirus Live cd's?

There are many out now.

Use google and put in the words Antivirus Live CD.

If you could share more about recent apps or sites more specific help may be given. There is Grif's advice but I worry your machine is in sad shape.

Your experience with this Windows infection is why many are forgetting Windows today. Would you consider a more secure OS?

Avira Rescue CD Is One Such AV Bootdisk
Apr 14, 2015 8:21AM PDT

Click on the link below and download/read the "How to" documents, then download the Rescue CD .exe file to create a bootable CD for scanning the computer at startup.. You'll want to create the Rescue CD on a clean computer so you've got a good quality disk to scan with.

There are other good bootable AV scanners as well. This is just one that I've used occasionally.

Hope this helps.
