av out problem

i have a song vaio pcg-k23 with an av out thingie...i bought the cable to connect it to a standard rca 3 colored hook-up, the audio works, but the video doesnt work, i tryed doing a fn key f7 to switch to the tv, but it doesnt work, nothing shows up on the tv, i have it on the correct video channel etc, because i can hear the audio, but the picture is not coming, please help!

I'm not familiar with the Vaio, but with my Toshiba, I have to hit fn-F5 three times, consecutively to have the picture appear on the TV. might want to check this out if you aren't certain.

Check to make sure you have displays set up correctly in your Display Properties. Go to Advanced, and usually there is a tab under your video driver's settings for displays and you can check to make sure that it is outputting to your TV (usually it's detected as a secondary display. With nVidia, sometimes you have to tell it to "detect displays".
