I need a player that will adapt to a car stereo or compact stereo unit. I can't find the player's that have this feature. Can someone tell me what the feature is called? Players that have it? Thank's.

...that your car stero has an aux input, as the title of your post suggests, any mp3 player will work. The feature you're looking for is a headphone port, which almost all mp3 players have (except that really expensive Sony egg thing). Additionally, you need a aux cable with 2 male ends Anyone at Radio Shack, Fry's, or Best Buy should know what you're talking about. One end goes into the headphone port of the mp3 player, the other end goes into the aux input on the car stereo.

Thank you for your response. I researched several players and none of them gave reference to this feature. Thanks, S.Peet.

They all have this feature !!

Every MP3 player has a headphone socket and it is common to use this to connect to an aux input on a hifi -- and possibly on some cars. In the 1980s I used to play my Cassette Walkman via a car stereo amplifier unit.

If you have a recent car it may have an iPod connector -- and there are countless hifi systems and dock units with them too.

Or FM transmitter?

Yes, or there are radio transmitters such as the iTrip, that turn your MP3 player into a radio transmitter. You can then tune your car radio to the right frequency to listen to your music.

Reports vary, in crowded area's you can get interference and in some countries it might not be legal.
