AutoPlay suddenly not working

by dstrb3d / October 25, 2008 10:18 AM PDT

hi all

i've been messing about with VMware because i wanted to play around with linux without having to dual boot and all that.

so i uninstalled it and then i noticed that my autoplay menus don't pop up anymore when i insert removable media or disks even.

i'm not sure what's going on but it seems like a very minor problem, nevertheless i'd like to know why i don't have AutoPlay pop up whenever i insert media/disks

i have checked a couple of websites saying something about a registry fix, and i've tried it but to no avail...there is no popup at all even after applying the registry fix they suggested

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
