Automatic DSL dial in/log in

Nov 25, 2003 10:52PM PST

I am working on a computer for a friend. It is running Win XP Pro.They have bellsouth DSL.Whenever she logs into her account, the dial up prompt pops up for the DSL,& she has to hit dial to log on to the DSL internet. Is there any way to make it automatically dial/log in when she logs on to her account?
Thanks,
Chad

Re:Automatic DSL dial in/log in. What software?

The tech support for that system should answer this one since any number of softwares are supplied by them to do this logon.

They do know the answer, but a generic answer is not going to apply to all the dozen versions of DSL software I've seen.

My solution was to install a Linksys (or other) DSL/Cable Router and that would do the auto-logon plus act as a basic firewall.

I have SBC DSL and when I click the icon, I have to click connect to get on. Seems like they don't have any interest in making it automated, but its a minor irritation since I log on in the AM and off at night.
