Autodownloading giving me problems with EZ antivirus update

by sue_432001us / January 1, 2005 8:16 AM PST

Hello, To whomever can help,
I have 6.2 version of EZ Antivirus 2005, by eTrust. I am trying to update the signature files, but, I can't seem to get the autodownload to operate, when I am online. I uninstalled it and re installed it but, I get a message "autodownload is currently running. Only one instance of autodownload may be run at a time, This instance will now close." The latest file I have is 8250. I have Windows 2000 pro. in my computer. I would like to know if I should try something else? I downloaded the files to the hard drive but I don't know how to download them to work with the antivirus program of the r7 2005 version. I can't seem to get it figured out. Thanks for anyones help.

EZ Antivirus update

how about you navigate to your program folder and direct the downloaded update to the update folder - if it asks you to overwrite the last reference file - say "yes".

Just a thought

CA has a web site that will test your patience.

Up until a couple of weeks ago I was running 7.0.1 and the auto update feature worked fine.

Then for a week all I got was "your av files are up to date".

Considering that they update almost daily I thought that was nonsense.

If you search around on their site for auto update problems you'll find a ref to a firewall (nope) and a ref to a past auto update that did not finish (stuck) and how to remove some folder to unstick it. (nope)

I finally just upgraded to the newest version (7.0.5) and all is well now.

Perhaps this may help.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
